Can scratches from tempered glass be removed?
Yes, scratches from tempered glass can be removed. Although harder than float glass, tempered glass is still susceptible to scratches. Glass Savers is experienced with tempered glass, which is required by code in most areas, so it's almost exclusively what we resurface.
What types of damage can you repair?
Whether you have a sliding glass door scratched by pets or severe, deep scratch graffiti on your storefront windows, we can repair the damage back to like-new conditions with no visible distortion. Types of damage we fix include scratched glass, acid etched glass, severe hard water damage, post construction cleanup scratches, fabricating debris scratches, aquarium glass, and yacht glass.
Are you insured?
Of course! Although we have never had to make a claim, we are covered up to $2 million. Please email to request a copy of our insurance certificates.
What types of windows can you repair?
If it's made of glass, chances are it can be repaired. Everything from standard commercial storefront windows to bullet proof glass. Dual pane, annealed, tempered -- if it's glass and it's scratched, we can usually fix it.
What is the cost of repair?
Rates depend on a number of factors including what type of glass the damage is on, the size of the damage, the size of the glass, and location of damage. You can generally expect to save at least 50% over the cost of replacement. For graffiti removal, average cost is $250-300 per window, with a $500 minimum trip charge.
Do you offer any guarantee?
Of course! We guarantee to bring your glass back to factory new standards or better. We routinely resurface new glass before it's installed, and it's sold as new. If we can't restore your glass to new condition, we will let you know ahead of time.
How soon can you repair my glass?
Generally within 2-3 days for local jobs. For out of town work, please email or call for scheduling.
How long does it take?
Most small 1-3 window repair jobs can be completed in under 2 hours, some take much longer depending on the severity and size of damage. Less severe damage like hard water stained glass resurfacing may only take 30-40 minutes per window. For large scale projects, please call or email with specifics for an estimated completion time.
How do you get scratches out of glass without leaving distortion?
We use a proprietary system and manufacture our own resurfacing discs that are not for sale. Glass Savers is dedicated to resurfacing glass -- it's all we do. We use a modified, improved multi-stage grinding and polishing technique with specialized abrasives. When the job needs to be done right, Glass Savers is your best bet.
Can you get scratches out of curved glass?
Yes, we can remove scratches from auto glass and other types of curved glass.
Do you provide service outside of California?
Yes, although Glass Savers is based in Austin, TX, and we provide regular service to San Diego and Orange County, CA, there is often a chance we can help no matter where you are. A growing percentage of our glass resurfacing jobs are out of state. Often it's more cost-effective to fly us in than to replace or gamble on an inexperienced company.
Do you use the Glass Renu System?
No. We started out using that system but found it was not able to deliver the results our most demanding customers required. Not only do we produce all of our own tools, we stay well stocked with enough supplies to handle projects of any size. Glass resurfacing is not an add-on service for us -- it's all we do.
Where can I buy your tools?
As of right now, our proprietary tools are not for sale.
